Week 20/2025: Just quickly

Week of 12 May 2025

A busy week

Just quickly, a short post because I’m overwhelmed with other things to do right now.

I keep asking myself how I ever managed to write a post a day in 2011 when I started this blog when I was working and kidwrangling a four-year-old, and now I’m struggling to keep up with one post a week!

Here’s a photo of Monday night’s sky.

I did many cool things this week including

A Slightly Isolated Dog’s performance of Jekyll and Hyde at the Studio Theatre on Tuesday night.

HoCo Now (Hobart College’s art exhibition) and the ArtRage exhibition of 2024 TCE students at Salamanca Arts Centre on Wednesday.

Nicola Gower-Wallis’s exhibition Cloud Chorus at the Bett Gallery on Thursday. I loved this painting because plovers.

What did I learn this week?

The TV show Yes, Minister was meant to have premiered on the BBC in 1979 but was delayed due to concerns it would affect the 1979 general election.

It eventually premiered on BBC2 in 1980. Margaret Thatcher (elected at that election) was a big fan and even wrote herself into a sketch for the show in 1984.

What did I notice this week?

Tiny glimpse of light on the road.

A patch of light lights up some plants on the side of an empty road
